Grant Thornton appoints four partners across advisory and audit

Grant Thornton has announced four new partner appointments across its advisory and audit practices, enhancing its accountancy services in Ireland and Bermuda. The appointments come as the firm expands its EMEA operations through strategic global transactions with professional services firms.

Tom Kelly joins as an audit partner in Bermuda, bringing 28 years of KPMG experience in New York and Bermuda, specialising in audit, assurance, and advisory for insurance and reinsurance clients. He is a licensed CPA in New York, New Jersey, and Bermuda with expertise in PCAOB, SEC, NAIC, and Bermuda regulations, supporting complex cross-border engagements.

Ian Wilson has been appointed audit partner in Ireland, focusing on asset management, private equity, and structured finance. He reports under Irish and UK GAAP, IFRS, and US GAAP, and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, strengthening the firm’s technical audit and assurance services.

Zoë Sheehan-Kohli joins as business consulting partner in asset management, with 17 years’ experience across the US and DACH regions. She has led operating model transformations and fintech implementations for asset managers, combining sector knowledge with technology-driven advisory expertise.

Howard Shortt has been named Grant Thornton Ireland’s cyber partner, bringing expertise in cybersecurity, governance, and risk management. He holds an MSc in Forensic Computing, a BSc (Hons) in Information Systems, a FinTech postgraduate diploma, and CISSP, CCSP, and CISM certifications, reinforcing the firm’s advisory capabilities in cybersecurity.

Steve Tennant, managing partner of Grant Thornton Ireland and now CEO of EMEA, highlighted that these appointments will strengthen advisory and audit capabilities while supporting the firm’s growth across the region.
